수능에서 한 번도 빠짐없이 등장했던 영단어 105개

지난 목요일에 2010학년도 대학수학능력시험이 있었습니다. 한 해에 두 번 치렀던 94년 수능을 포함하여 벌써 18번째입니다. 수능을 준비하는 학생들을 위해 작년부터 수능에 관한 자료를 정리하여 데이터베이스로 만들고 있는데, 2010 수능의 자료도 추가를 하면서 제가 정리한 재미난 통계를 몇 가지 소개하려고 합니다. 오늘은 그 첫 번째로 열 여덟 번의 수능에서 한 번도 빠짐없이 시험지에 등장했던 단어 105개입니다. (단, 듣기 문제에 나왔던 단어는 제외했습니다.)

105개 단어가 전체의 몇%?

18회의 수능에서 총 920문항이 출제되었고, 그 중 272개의 듣고 푸는 문제를 제외한 648문제가 읽고 푸는 문제, 흔히 말하는 독해 문제입니다. 엄밀히 말해 말하고 듣는 기능에 관한 읽기 문제가 있어 독해 문제보다는 읽고 푸는 문제가 더 적절한 표현이지요. 아무튼, 읽고 푸는 648개의 문제에서 60,925개의 단어가 등장했으니, 한 문제에 94 단어가 나오는 셈입니다.

그런데 한 번도 빠지지 않고 등장한 105개 단어의 비중은 얼마나 될까요? 무려 31,064회. 전체의 51%가 이 105개의 단어로 이루어져 있다는 것이지요.
